Two teens trying to convert a Hindu to Christianity. This needs to be discussed. Just… wow.I agree WOW, it really looked like a sketch on The Daily Show or The Colbert Report. I really just think the two Christian girls are very naive and need to learn more about what goes on outside of their own sheltered world. Hopefully they see the backlash this gets and check themselves. Also, I applaud Sara for composing herself while her culture was pretty much getting bashed.
So in a nutshell: Two very very naive girls talking about something they need to educate themselves on. Are they racist? No, just naive.
I would like to thank the girl in green, yes this was very insightful. Insightful of how horrible religion, education, and tolerance in America is.
1. Religion. Are these girls serious? I’m sorry, in all three years that I believed in the Christian faith, I never, not ONCE tried to “convert” someone by telling them they were going to hell. This is something you have to learn. So shame on your parents/guardians/whoever scared you into Jesus.
2. Education. What are these girls learning if they’re saying Indian is a combination of Asia and Africa? Also, it bothers me that the girl in green describes her friends as “regular” and “Indian.” We’re in the twenty-first century, and this sounds like we’re back to separate water fountains.
3. Tolerance. Really girls? You’re friend doesn’t believe in what you believe so you can talk but can’t be friends. WTF? I thought kids got over this petty shit in the fifth grade. And then rice is all she eats? Yeah, because she totally isn’t sticking her hand in the box of cereal you have on the table.
This is just pathetic. And absolutely sad. It’s like fundamentalist mean girls. “We wear pink….” except “we believe in Jesus…..” Yeah, props to Sara for not slapping them in the face for sounding ignorant.
