When I opened my eyes and realized how ridiculous I must look I thought, Who’s the freak now? but I’m pretty sure Miss Barnell can’t hear me, and I’m really jealous that her cat is named Edelweiss, but mostly that she has a cat.
Wait. Joseph Mitchell wrote this profile in 1940, so I can totally name my future kitty, Edie. If I get another, I’ll name her Jane Barnell. Or Florence Nightingale.
